WANT TO BE RICH? READ THIS!

If you check the life of Bible patriarchs who walked with God(Abraham, Isaac, Jacob), and if you observe God's dealing with Kings like David and Solomon, you will notice their relationship with God was rewarded with wealth. Also, Job's pre-trial and post-trial wealth came as God's direct reward for faithfulness. God doesn't mind if you're rich. In fact, the ministries of Christ and the apostles were supported by people of means. Indeed, poverty is a curse. It doesn't glorify God who said He owns the gold and the silver, and promised that our cup would overflow.

The problem is that obsession with wealth comes with challenges that could adversely affect your walk with God. The most strident and scary warning in this regard came from Christ himself in Mark 10:23:

Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!”

Many preachers try to twist this around. Do not be deceived. The message is clear! Paul also warned in his first letter to Timothy:

1 Timothy 6:9 But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

What we should bear in mind is that God doesn't hate wealth, but it does not count in his assessment or estimation of who you are. Jesus said so in Luke 12:15:

Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”

Jeremiah declared Jehovah's verdict on wealth in Jeremiah 9:23-24:

This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power,or the rich boast in their riches. [24] But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the Lord, have spoken.

The implication of this is clear: before God, the only factor that makes up your worth or value is your knowledge of God. Therefore, the element that you should strive for the most is the knowledge of God. God doesn't hate wealth, but you must get your balance right!
