THE MOST MISERABLE PEOPLE ON EARTH!

In 1 Cor.15:19, Paul made a profound statement which no Christian must ever forget. He said “If our hope in Christ is good for this life only and no more, then we deserve more pity than anyone else in the entire world” (GNB). The last part of this sentence is translated in the King James Version as “…we are of all men most miserable.” This simply means that if the only reasons why we are Christians are reasons related to the legitimate concerns of this world such as money, property, education, careers and so on, we will ultimately have very little to brag about in comparison with other categories of people. Note that Paul the apostle made this statement in the context of a discussion regarding the resurrection from the dead and, the subsequent life thereafter. Paul was referring to strange doctrinal positions that surfaced at that time. Such doctrines contended against the idea of resurrection from the dead, and appeared to favor the belief that death was the final end. The apostle ...

THE PRIVILEGES OF DIVINE DIFFERENCE

Are you a worshiper of God? Have you received Christ as saviour? Do you have a covenant with God by the blood of Christ Jesus? If yes, you are special to God. God is very intentional and deliberate about separating his own people for protection and blessings. Just look at the declaration in the highlighted part of this scripture:   Exodus 11:6-7  [6] There will be loud wailing throughout Egypt—worse than there has ever been or ever will be again. [7] But among the Israelites not a dog will bark at any person or animal.’ Then you will know that the Lord makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.   The same principle is repeated in the highlighted part of another scripture below:   Malachi 3:17-18 [17] “On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. [18] And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the ...

THE MYSTERY OF SPIRITUAL IDENTITY

Once upon a time, as scripture records in Acts 19:13-16, some people were tried to cast out demons by commanding them to leave "in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches." They were the seven sons of sceva. They didn't succeed. Rather, they got an interesting response from the demon they tried to cast out. The demon spoke up and asked: "Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?" These fellows were subsequently beaten to pulp by the possessed person. The sons of Sceva had names and identity in the physical, but the demon, who operated in the spirit, could not identify them in the spirit realm. The sons of Sceva did not have the spiritual  identity that causes demond to obey people. The elements of identification which devils could normally see were not there. This spiritual identity is what is required for authority over dark forces in the spirit. Without it, a human being not only isn't equiped for dominion, s/he is available to be bullied and kicked aro...

WANT TO BE RICH? READ THIS!

Image
If you check the life of Bible patriarchs who walked with God(Abraham, Isaac, Jacob), and if you observe God's dealing with Kings like David and Solomon, you will notice their relationship with God was rewarded with wealth. Also, Job's pre-trial and post-trial wealth came as God's direct reward for faithfulness. God doesn't mind if you're rich. In fact, the ministries of Christ and the apostles were supported by people of means. Indeed, poverty is a curse. It doesn't glorify God who said He owns the gold and the silver, and promised that our cup would overflow.  The problem is that obsession with wealth comes with challenges that could adversely affect your walk with God. The most strident and scary warning in this regard came from Christ himself in Mark 10:23:   Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!”    Many preachers try to twist this around. Do not be deceived. The message is clear! Paul ...

VICTORY BY THE OVERWHELMING POWER OF THE RISEN CHRIST

Image
Upon resurrection, Jesus told his disciples that all power in heaven and earth had been given to him (Matt. 28:18). I therefore encourage you to consciously, deliberately and intentionally apply this power over every small or big matter in your life. Secure yourself daily under this power by the covering of the blood, and leave no access point for the devil in the form of iniquity. I know you have many questions in your minds about instances where it seems the power didn't manifest. I won't theorize about this, as there are myriad reasons why this could be. You see, as a matter of fact, there are many things we don't understand and may never understand, but we are supposed to run with the one we understand, which has been clearly revealed to us. The overwhelming power of Christ is clearly revealed in His word. Just run with it. It has worked, and it's still working for millions of people. Deuteronomy 29:29 “The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not ac...

AN URGENT QUESTION YOU NEED TO ASK GOD

Image
When Christ encountered Saul on the way to Damascus, Saul (as recorded in the King James Bible) asked a very good question:    And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? ...Acts 9:6 KJV This is a question every Christian must ask about their lives. The Lord makes it clear that we are made for specific assignments on earth. It is written in Ephesians 2:10 KJV  that ...we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.    Jeremiah, as an example, must have been shocked when God told him he had ordained him a prophet even before he (Jeremiah) was formed in his mother's womb ( Jeremiah 1:5 KJV Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations). Just like Jeremiah, you have your own unique assignment too , and you must know it if you want to live for Chri...

THE GREATEST DEFENCE AGAINST SATANIC ATTACKS

Image
The devil and his cohort are out there doing their thing: to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Their assignment is simply to sabotage the interest of God. This includes the interest of God on your life. The more relevant you become in God's agenda, the more they notice you, and the more they try to get you down. The devil goes around like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour (1Peter.5:8). He even tried to devour Christ, but Christ was always victorious over him. In John 14:39, Christ gives us a clear idea of how his victory over the devil was guaranteed. He said "..., for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me." The ruler of this word system is the devil, Satan. He had nothing of his in Christ. Therefore, he had no power over him. That's why some Bible version translate as "...he has no power over me." Every sin is the property of Satan. If he has his property in a person, he has the right and power to afflict that person. But...
